COMPLEANNO DI TOTO' - BIRTHDAY TOTO '

Il 15 febbraio 1898 alle ore 7.30 Antonio De Curtis, in arte Totò,  nasce al rione Sanità al civico 109 di via Santa Maria Antesaecula a Napoli.  E’ proprio di oggi la notizia che il Fai, il Fondo Ambiente Italiano, ha annunciato che il museo dedicato a Totò è tra i 10“Luoghi del cuore” in Italia, grazie alle numerose segnalazioni ricevute. Al quarto posto di questa classifica, infatti, c’è proprio il Museo di Totò nel Rione Sanità di Napoli (43.126 persone lo hanno scelto). Il Rione Sanità rappresenta il “luogo del cuore” dal quale ripartire per tener viva la memoria del grande artista napoletano nei cuori dei suoi concittadini.  Nell’ambito dell’ iniziativa “I luoghi del cuore” si intende infatti promuovere il recupero e la valorizzazione dell’immagine di Totò, partendo proprio dal Rione Sanità, il luogo natale che gli ha dato le origini.   L’intento non è legato al solo recupero architettonico di un luogo storico, ma – attraverso il censimento promosso dalla campagna stessa – a sensibilizzare i cittadini napoletani verso il ripristino e mantenimento della figura di un grande artista che ha rivoluzionato la commedia italiana e non solo.
Attualmente l’intero patrimonio storico-artistico del Rione Sanità è oggetto di un importante processo di valorizzazione, a partire dalla riapertura delle Catacombe di San Gennaro affidate ad una cooperativa sociale formata da giovani guide del quartiere. Da queste iniziative è nato il tour” IL Miglio D’Oro “ che oggi promuove i tesori del quartiere (Museo di San Gennaro in primis) e che interesserà anche i luoghi dedicati a Totò, quali imprescindibili tesori della memoria storica, culturale ed artistica del territorio.

The intent is not only linked to the architectural renovation of a historic place, but - through the census organized by the campaign - to raise awareness of Naples towards the restoration and maintenance of the figure of a great artist who revolutionized the Italian comedy and not just .

Currently the whole historical and artistic heritage of the District Health is the subject of an important process of development, from the reopening of the Catacombs of San Gennaro entrusted to a social cooperative formed by young guides in the neighborhood. From these initiatives was born on tour "THE Golden Mile" which today promotes the treasures of the neighborhood (Museum of San Gennaro in the first place) and that will also affect sites dedicated to Toto, which are essential treasures of historical memory, cultural and artistic territory.
