La frittata - The omelette

The historical origins of the village date back to the fourteenth century, it seems that he was born from the fusion of Provencal with the inhabitants of the ancient Castellum Sancti Severi.

Born in the laboratory of cavalier Borrillo a wide range of nougat, but also sweets, sodas, and especially the famous "Kiss" also known as the San Marco dei Cavoti Crunchy, tasty or crunchy bars made from almonds, hazelnuts and sugar coated of naspro and, subsequently, in the variant of dark chocolate.

For several years it has been established "The party of the Torrone and Crunchy" that takes place every weekend in December from 8 to 24 and records in each edition a considerable number of visitors.

The patron saint is San Marco which is celebrated on April 25

Among the many places of interest remind the Church of St. Mark the Evangelist, modern structure constructed in 1975 and restored in a more harmonic in the early twenty-first century being parish priest Monsignor Michael Marinella. The building preserves valuable works of ancient art in such a beautiful crucifix, two large canvases sacred (seventeenth century), the putti of the baptismal font and some statues, including Addolorata and San Diodorus Martyr. In the temple are also located the ancient sculptures that previously adorned the altars of the noble old church and were later removed when it was demolished after the earthquake of 1962. Among them, those of Saint Teresa (the family returned to the cult Soup heirs, sons of Dr.. Armando) and St. Anthony (Cocca family, returned to the cult by Anna Zurlo Mogavero), while that of St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori of Jelardi family is currently in the private chapel at the palace of the same name. Inside the temple there are also two artistic mosaics depicting the Last Supper (the seventies of the XXI century) and the Madonna del Carmine and Padre Pio (2010) donated to the church by Armando Petronzo.
