San Marco dei Cavoti 

è un borgo di 3596 abitanti della provincia di Benevento in Campania.

Le origini storiche del borgo risalgono al XIV secolo; pare che sia nato dalla fusione di Provenzali con gli abitanti dell'antico Castellum Sancti Severi. 

San Marco dei Cavoti noto in ambito nazionale e internazionale come "il paese del torrone". Nacquero nel laboratorio del cavalier Borrillo una svariata gamma di torroni, ma anche dolci, bibite gassate e, soprattutto, i famosi "Baci" anche noti come Croccantino di San Marco dei Cavoti, ovvero gustose barre di croccante composte da mandorle, nocciole e zucchero ricoperte di naspro e, successivamente, nella variante di cioccolato fondente.

Da diversi anni è stata istituita "La festa del Torrone e del Croccantino" che si svolge tutti i week end di dicembre dall'8 al 24 e registra in ogni edizione un considerevole numero di visitatori.

Tra i tanti luoghi di interesse segnaliamo la Chiesa di San Marco Evangelista, struttura moderna realizzata nel 1975 e restaurata in forme più armoniche nei primi anni del XXI secolo essendo parroco Mons. Michele Marinella. L'edificio conserva al suo interno pregevoli opere di arte antica all'interno tra cui un bel crocifisso, due grandi tele sacre (sec. XVII), i putti del fonte battesimale e alcune statue tra cui un'Addolorata e San Diodoro Martire. Nel tempio sono altresì collocate le antiche sculture che, precedentemente, ornavano gli altari gentilizi della vecchia chiesa e vennero poi rimosse quando essa venne demolita dopo il sisma del 1962. Tra esse quelle di Santa Teresa (della famiglia Zuppa restituita al culto dagli eredi, figli del dott. Armando) e Sant'Antonio (famiglia Cocca, restituita al culto dalla signora Anna Zurlo Mogavero), mentre quella di Sant'Alfonso Maria de Liguori della famiglia Jelardi è attualmente nella cappellina privata presso il palazzo omonimo. All'interno del tempio si trovano anche due artistici mosaici raffiguranti l'ultima cena (anni Settanta del XXI secolo) e la Madonna del Carmine e Padre Pio (2010) donato alla chiesa da Armando Petronzo.

Attrattiva culturale sono anche il Museo degli orologi di San Marco dei Cavoti.

Among the many places of interest remind the Church of St. Mark the Evangelist, modern structure constructed in 1975 and restored in a more harmonic in the early twenty-first century being parish priest Monsignor Michael Marinella. The building preserves valuable works of ancient art in such a beautiful crucifix, two large canvases sacred (seventeenth century), the putti of the baptismal font and some statues, including Addolorata and San Diodorus Martyr. In the temple are also located the ancient sculptures that previously adorned the altars of the noble old church and were later removed when it was demolished after the earthquake of 1962. Among them, those of Saint Teresa (the family returned to the cult Soup heirs, sons of Dr.. Armando) and St. Anthony (Cocca family, returned to the cult by Anna Zurlo Mogavero), while that of St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori of Jelardi family is currently in the private chapel at the palace of the same name. Inside the temple there are also two artistic mosaics depicting the Last Supper (the seventies of the XXI century) and the Madonna del Carmine and Padre Pio (2010) donated to the church by Armando Petronzo.
